Nicole + Garris Elegant Wickliffe House Wedding :: Charleston, South Carolina

August 18, 2021

Nicole + Garris got married on a perfect sunny, windy March day in Charleston, South Carolina. The wedding details and styling that Nicole chose mirror Southern charm, antique touches and a whole lot of love. From the moment I pulled into the driveway at the Wickliffe House and saw the old pillars on the front porch, and then went inside and met the girls who were getting ready, I knew it was going to be a fun day!

How cute is the little ring dish featuring Rainbow Row in watercolor?!

Something about old creaky wooden floors and sunlight spilling in the windows makes me nostalgic.

Nicole, you are absolutely stunning!! This dress fit her like a glove and many of her guests complimented her throughout the day!

As a wedding gift, Garris bought a watercolor painting of the exact spot in Charleston where he proposed to Nicole. We were all a little teary eyed watching her open the package and realize what was inside.
Such a sweet gift for their home!

I always encourage my brides to do a first look with their bridesmaids if they have time. It’s so fun letting your girls have a first glimpse of you in your dress, with your hair and makeup done, and it usually ends in laughter + tears!

I’ll go ahead and admit upfront, that we all cried happy tears all day long.
This father-daughter first look was so precious :’)

We all took a shuttle over to the Battery for family, wedding party and couple portraits. It’s definitely a little tricky shooting around people because of how busy the battery is, but if you are getting married in Charleston, it’s still a great spot for portraits! You can also rent out a portion of the battery to hold a wedding ceremony.

There are obviously a lot of big, obvious and important moments during a wedding day that I prioritize for photos. And then are there a lot of little, emotional moments that are equally important. I love delivering wedding galleries that have a mixture of the big and little moments, because it takes all of them to properly tell the story of the day. This moment below, where the grooms parents supported Nicole’s mom as she tearfully watched her husband dance with their baby girl was so precious.

Garris + Nicole with both of their parents, who are great friends and love spending time together. Whenever my couples families get along, I always tell them to not take that for granted because that doesn’t happen for everyone!

Garris’ parents won this dance for who had been married the longest!!

Such an incredible day for two incredible people!
Can’t wait for your little boy to join your family later this year. He is going to have the best parents!
xoxo, Olivia Marie
